It's Six Sentence Sunday and I've written lots of stuff!!! Firstly, an extract from my Dhawan!Master fic - it's 2006 and he's just realised this is the Saxon election campaign so now he's in a bad mood.

It worries him, now he knows that the Doctor was responsible for derailing Britain’s Golden Age just because she ordered the Sycorax shot down – a brutal act, but necessary, because beings like that always returned. The Doctor could give as many grand speeches as he liked, but giving an enemy a foothold only opens the door to much worse things—

And he fears what the consequences are going to be. Because changing the timeline in such a drastic way must’ve had some – not just allowing him to become Prime Minister (that’s as much on himself as anyone else), but beyond that…

What else is coming? Even with a dulled time-sense he remembers that UNIT survives while Torchwood doesn’t (even if he doesn't know the details of that), that the country becomes increasingly xenophobic towards aliens as the years stretch on, and while they do get their act together…

It takes far longer than it should have.

Oh, Doctor, he thinks, what have you done?

Remember it is literally canon the Doctor fucked things up and I am going to be exploring that in this fic - the dulled time-sense idea is something @kitkatt0430 (hello again :D) gave to me as an explanation for why O doesn't sense certain events or creatures (like the 456) are coming, or at least not the details, when Time Lord are meant to know events and have enchanced senses...and they suggested that the Drums affected all of these which is a great idea, so thank you.

Next up one from the Sad Westhallen fic - now retitled 'living on' - and it...did not have the burst of writing I hoped because it turned out I'd written down less than I'd thought but we'll get there someday!

Five years of grief, compounded by her recent revelation which Iris was still trying to process and which she…still wasn’t sure what to do about, and as she slowly opened her eyes, watching the soft morning light filling the room, all of this hit her like a truck and she desperately wished she could just go back to sleep and forget about everything because anything, anything would be better than having to deal with today…

But she couldn’t. She had Nora and Bart to think of and whatever she might want she knew she had to get up – she could already hear Eddie in the kitchen, making an active effort to be quiet and the guilt returned full force.

He was grieving too, and they would have to support each other while trying to hide the extent of their grief from the children. It wasn’t so much bottling the emotions, but…this was difficult, for the twins, mourning a father they’d barely gotten to know, and they always tried to make it easier for them…

She couldn’t delay any longer, so she got up and threw on some casual clothes – formality was for later – before making her way to the kitchen, each step feeling almost as heavy as her heart, and when she got there she saw that Eddie’s eyes were red-rimmed, a look of utter devastation on his face.

I also wrote a bit more for the Tory is a Barnes AU, which is also taking longer than planned but I'm hoping a rewatch might help with that...once my internet issues are sorted out anyway.

Mom was doing a great job in not freaking out, but she was clearly just as stunned as Tory was – though not nearly as fucking guilty.

Because family was everything, yet she’d broken her cousin’s arm. Hit, punched, kicked her in the fucking ribs and broke her fucking arm. It would be weeks, if not months, until she recovered – why would her family even want to help her?

She just didn’t understand. Tory was all for family loyalty – there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for Mom or Brandon – but…

There was a limit.

She couldn’t go back to Central, what if she killed someone the next time? Sofia wouldn’t be able to deal with that, but she hadn’t eaten for hours and she was going to need to replenish her supplies soon…

But what if it was worse? What if she ended up flooding the entire city—

Splashing caught her attention, and she froze because it…it sounded like it was coming from outside. Which wasn’t possible – it didn’t sound like a boat and no one would be stupid enough to go wading in floodwater—

No one except a desperate kid like her.

I swear this isn't as sinister as it looks - it's two members of Team Shieldmaiden coming to help fifteen year old Sofia Lopez, who will be making more appearances in the future.

LITERALLYYYY like...geez between this + the punching bag scene + Eddie's pep talk to Barry in 1x19, Westhawne's adorableness and "I say screw the future for you" theme, Westallen's chemistry throughout s1...Westhallen should've been canon. And endgame. And frankly, if Eddie hadn't died, I fully believe that's what would've happened. You can't change my mind about that.

The Strange Case of Dr. Wells & Mr. Thawne

Summary: the start of what may be a series of AUs examining the concept of Eobard framing Harrison rather than killing him

Warnings: none

Harrison didn't know much about the man who had been following him. He'd assumed, initially, that it was only a coincidence that he saw him so often - odd, but not malicious nor intentional. Starling City was, after all, only so big and if they both lived in the same area they were bound to see each other every once in a while. Then he'd gotten some notoriety and he began to wonder if the blond man was a stalker, an obsessed fan - though, that didn't seem right either. He'd been around before the fame and accolades and...he never did anything, Harrison had never even caught him glancing his direction. It really would have seemed entirely coincidental if it weren't for the fact that for the past 15 years every one of his worst days had coincided with a glimpse of the man, even after he'd moved to Central City, too upset by his wife's death to stay. Hell, he was pretty sure he remembered seeing him the day of the car accident that had killed Tess.

Harrison wasn't superstitious but he also wasn't blind, that damn man was a constant silent presence like a foreboding omen. He'd even been in attendance the night the particle accelerator had been turned on - the night everything had gone so horribly, horribly wrong. But, not every visit coincided with a tragedy, at least not that he could see. The man had also been present in the hospital when Harrison had seen Barry Allen code and spoken to Detective Joe West. He'd only seen a glimpse of the blond man but Harrison, perhaps foolishly, had decided that he wasn't going to let this harbringer of misfortune cause anyone else to suffer and convinced the detective to let Barry be taken to S.T.A.R. Labs where he and whatever team he had left could help.

Maybe he should have said something to someone, perhaps he could have prevented any future trouble, but at the time he truly hadn't thought it anything worth bothering Barry or the CCPD about. He had no reasons to bring it up, the man had never actually done anything that he could see, his suspicions were completely irrational. Until they weren't.

The last thing Harrison had expected upon arriving downstairs was Cisco standing in front of what appeared to be The Reverse Flash in the containment field he'd built months ago but in moments, the man in yellow had vanished - a hologram. Cisco looked hurt and betrayed when he turned to face Harrison. Harrison didn't have to be a genius to put the pieces together.

"Cisco-" He started but Cisco cut him off.

"You're him," Cisco said, quiet anger coloring his voice. "You're The Reverse Flash."

Harrison sighed, trying to keep his own emotions under control. "It certainly looks-"

"You killed Barry's mom, you killed all those people! Why?" Cisco asked, voice raising slightly.

"Cisco, I know that you're upset, but I need you to calm down-"

Harrison wheeled forward and Cisco automatically scrambled back, onto the containment unit, afraid. Harrison hadn't expected that, he'd never expected to see such a look on any one of his team's faces.

"No," Cisco said, slamming the on button for the unit. "No. This ends now. I'm not playing your game anymore, you're not using me or Caitlin or Barry ever again!"

Harrison paused, looking over the scared younger man critically, surveying the situation.

"You altered the polarity of the containment field. Smart man. That would probably stop me if I was The Reverse Flash but I am not. You have the wrong man." Harrison said, beginning to lose his patience.

"Stop lying! We know, we all know!"

Harrison wheeled forward again and heard the faint click of the safety on a gun being turned off to his left. Eddie or Joe, maybe both, were present - good information to have. Barry was probably near as well. Harrison wondered how long they'd been planning this setup.

"I promise you that I am not lying to you and I am willing to do whatever you need for you to trust me again - you and Caitlin and Barry. All of you." Harrison said calmly before reversing his wheelchair and wheeling towards the elevator, adding; "by the way, you can come out now."

"You can't just leave!"

Barry. Harrison paused in front of the doors with a resigned sigh though he knew he didn't have to, Barry could easily catch up to him. He couldn't imagine how much time and resources had been wasted on trying to trap him - he was frustrated for himself and on Barry's behalf.

"I'm not going anywhere but back to my lab, Mr. Allen." Harrison said, turning his chair to face the young speedster. "I have work to do but if you are so inclined you are welcome to accompany me. In fact, I'd prefer it if you did, I'd like to see what led you all to the conclusion that I am The Reverse Flash."

He could see the indecision on Barry's face and he felt a wave of sympathy wash over him. It had to be difficult, to be so sure that someone you trusted with your very life was the one trying to destroy it.

"I'm not asking you to trust me again," Harrison said quietly. "I'm asking you to give me the chance to earn that trust back. To prove to you that I am not the man in yellow."

He waited, hoping the young man would give him a chance. He saw the conflict in Barry's hazel eyes, the way his jaw set in silent anger and frustration, but eventually he nodded.

"Fine." He said, gesturing for Harrison to enter the elevator.

Harrison did so, feeling somewhat relieved. He'd have to start from square one with the team but at least he still had a chance.

For the AU headcanon game, AU in which Savitar is someone other than Barry? 👀

So I do remember various theories about Savitar's identity and one of them was Eddie. Which... I did not like that theory, so I'm not gonna go that way.

If it was someone the team knew already, then Eobard is the obvious candidate. In the comics, he's made himself look like Barry a few different ways and so there could be a convoluted plot going on that way, but... they've had enough Eobard Thawne as the bad guy on the show, I wanna speculate on someone new.

So the comics Savitar - New Earth version - was a Cold War pilot whose real identity was never discovered. While at top speed in his fighter plane, he was struck by lightning and survived the crash in hostile territory. This could be updated to him being an air force test pilot for an experimental craft using Dominator tech - foreshadowing the Dominator attack xover event later that season - that gets struck by lightning mid test. The test is classed a failure and the craft is unrecoverable - the man who becomes Savitar is assumed dead but of course he isn't.

Savitar therefor isn't obsessed with killing Iris - his existence doesn't depend on her. Instead perhaps Iris' investigation into Savitar's origins puts her in danger as he doesn't want anyone to know who he used to be - maybe he doesn't even remember and having his identity revealed would detract from the story he's selling the cult he's been creating.

Perhaps Alchemy as a stage one/first half of season boss with Savitar being hinted at until he's revealed at the mid season finale. Savitar could still be the man behind Alchemy, with Julian being unaware that he's been brainwashed to take on the persona of Alchemy under specific triggers. To de brainwash Julian, they bring in Hartley who - in this timeline - used a hypnotic flute in addition to his gloves. Julian thus has to come to terms both with what he did under the brainwashing and with the fact that he is a meta... that it was his rejection and self-hatred over being a meta that gave Savitar the in he needed to control Julian in the first place.

Part of the season's focus is on Barry having to accept that he has no idea how much the changes to the timeline are his fault and how much is stuff that was already gonna happen and he just... didn't know things were leading that way behind the scenes.

Revealing Frost's real origins in this season. Caitlin, panicking, goes to her mom for help and things with Carla eventually unravel to the reveal of Icicle. Frost has to choose between teaming up with Icicle or siding with Caitlin's friends... and chooses Icicle. Only to quickly realize she's in over her head and she turns to Caitlin for advice. The two of them form a truce to defeat Icicle and rejoin Team Flash by surprise!!! during the final Savitar vs Flash fight at the end of the season, which would also include Jesse and Wally as well as Savitar's cult.

Savitar would definitely try to recruit Icicle and Frost into his cult, but I don't see them having any of it. Icicle has his own god complex of a sort going on and Killer Frost just doesn't like him or trust him after Caitlin's experiences with Zoom and the Reverse Flash. If you've met one evil Speedster, you've met them all.

One of the things I did like about show!Savitar was that he was a fallen hero - I'm a Tales game series fan, i love fallen heroes as villains, that's basically the main villain of every Tales game and I eat it up every time. So I think part of the investigation into Savitar would be the reveal that he was a highly decorated hero and he saved a lot of lives. That's why he was tapped for the project. But after being essentially left for dead and his amnesia, Savitar grew to feel he was owed the accolades and devotion and it all warped into the god complex he has now. Forcing him to face his past isn't exactly a tomato in the mirror moment but he's torn between horror over who he's become and his desire for security and safety through the power he's accumulated.

Formal OC Introdictions - Steph Taylor

Series: The Shieldmaiden Saga

In December 2013, Steph Taylor's life is looking pretty good - she's a physicist at Athena Labs, is working on a force field project that will save hundreds if not thousands of lives and her best friend, Eddie Thawne, is transferring from Keystone to Central City, meaning she'll get to see a lot more of him. Even one of their rivals opening a particle accelerator doesn't get her down - anything that can advance humanity's knowledge of the universe is a plus.

Then the night it's switched on, it explodes, and Steph is knocked out while using the force field technology to protect some of her colleagues. She wakes up the next day unscathed - but others weren't so lucky, and it's clear to her that at the very least there were some serious safety issues overlooked with the damn thing. On top of this, the project she was working on his on hold - the argument being that as it didn't fully protect her, it's no use at all. Two months later this still hasn't been resolved and it's starting to get to her, but it seems this is the least of her problems when a day out with Eddie ends with a gun being fired at him and her rushing to take the bullet...

Only the bullet never hits...because she throws up a force field -the dark matter the accelerator threw out fused the technology to her DNA, and Steph just knows that therefore there must be others out there. Working with Alyssa and Tanya, she practices her own powers while starting to make plans to help these other metahumans, Eddie there by her side - but it's when she's asked to find Hartley Rathaway that things take a darker turn, because it turns out that Harrison Wells, STAR Labs founder, knew full well the accelerator was flawed...and set it off anyway. And Steph won't allow this to stand by - he has to pay for what he's done to the city and to the thousands of people who had their DNA altered without their consent.

But first, she has to ensure that there's a support system for the metahumans, because they're gonna need all the help they can get in the coming months - especially when some people decide to use their powers for bad instead of good.

Chapter Fourteen: True Romance (Conner's POV)

Mom called me a few hours after I went home. “Why didn’t you hear me when I called your name earlier?” Mom questioned. 

“Huh? Before I left the—? Before I left the house?” I asked in reply. 

“No, I saw you at the mall… I called you, and you—.”

I shook my head. “I went home. I went straight home, Mom. Did you look at his face?” I questioned.

“No… I must’ve made a mistake. Sorry, sweetheart,” Mom replied, “Did I wake you up?” 

“Nuh-uh… I just got out of the shower. I love you so much, Mom… And thanks for taking care of Bart and me this weekend. I appreciate you so so much,” I whispered. 

“I love you too, Conner. Get some rest. I’ll see you later. Buh-bye,” Mom replied.

“Buh-bye,” I whispered before hanging up. Bart climbed into my bed and started projecting a movie on the wall in front of us. I lay my head on his shoulder. He kissed my forehead like he used to, keeping his eyes trained on the screen. I craned my neck to kiss his throat, and he pulled away. 

“What the fuck are you doing?” Bart whispered. I blinked hard. 

My heart sank. It was humiliating. It was so humiliating that I darted out of the room and hid in Cissie’s bed for an hour. Cissie and Cassie weren’t home yet. I couldn’t face Bart after that.

I was so excited about my brother being alive that I was practically floating on air when I returned to my regular schedule. I felt so alive for the first three weeks until I decided to talk to Reed. After class on Tuesday, I stopped by Reed’s to surprise him. I was all over him from the second I got in the door, but he seemed different. “Conner, can we talk about us for a second?” Reed questioned. 

I leaned back on his couch. “Reed, this is fun. We’ve got our whole lives to be in committed relationships. I just want to have fun right now. Is that so wrong?” I questioned. Reed sighed. “What? Are you bored or something?” 

“Yeah, actually. I’m fed up, Conner. You were in the hospital and didn’t call me. You come over to fuck, and you treat me like I’m nothing more than a dick with a voice attachment. You don’t know anything about me, and we’re not moving forward. It’s always the same thing. We’ve been together for almost three months now and nothing’s changed,” Reed snapped. 

“Nobody’s forcing you to do this. I don’t know what’s crawled up your ass tonight—.” 

“I met somebody, and I wanna know where it’s going with you before I make a decision on what to do,” Reed confessed. I don’t know why he looked so guilt-stricken. The whole point of not being committed to each other was for that reason. It wasn’t like he was cheating on me. 

“You met somebody. That’s fine. Are they looking to commit?” I asked. Reed shrugged. 

“I haven’t—. I haven’t asked him. I wanted to know where your head was at before I said anything to him. He’s been going to book club with me for three weeks now, and we’re getting along so well. He’s never been in a relationship before, so I wanted to be considerate of him,” Reed replied. He swallowed hard like he was about to be sick, and his eyes darted away from me.

I sat there with my tongue in my cheek, holding it between my teeth as I squinted at him. “Do I know him or something?” I asked. 

“Conner, what’s your last name?” Reed questioned. I’m guessing it was in reply to what I said. 

“Kent, like my dad. Why?” I questioned. 

“His last name is Hausler. You two could be brothers And I know it’s weird, but he’s so different. I met him by accident. It’s not like I meant for it to happen, but I—. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna get serious between us soon,” Reed whispered. I went wide-eyed and stared down at my lap. “Conner?” 

“I—. Do you have a picture with him?” I questioned. “Can I see him?” Reed pulled up a picture of my twin, drinking a large cup of coffee. He looked happy. I knew it was him because he had a cut beneath his brown eye. And I smiled as tears threatened to fall from my eyes. I felt sick and overjoyed all at once. 

“Conner, I didn’t mean for this to happen. I just—.”

I hugged Reed. “You should be happy… And I hope you know I’m not pissed about any of this. Thank you,” I smiled. He relaxed in my arms and returned my embrace.

Something shifted when I got home that night. My heart sank as soon as I got in the door, and Bart was there to witness it completely. I wasn’t in the mood to talk to him or look at him. I went to our room and curled up in bed. Cassie knocked and entered a few seconds later. She sat at the foot of the bed and tapped my leg. 

“Back to being cold?” Cassie questioned. 

“Don’t—.”

“What’s going on, Conner?” Cassie asked. I sat up in bed and pulled her into a hug, so she couldn’t see me crying. I was just so overwhelmed. Bart entered the room and tapped Cassie’s shoulder. 

“I wanna talk to him alone for a sec,” Bart replied. Cassie quickly left us alone, and I got out of bed, keeping my face turned away from him. I didn’t want him to see me crying. I didn’t want him to know how badly I needed him. I felt like I was going to snap if he said anything to me. So, my reaction to what he said next would’ve happened no matter what. 

"Does he make love to you?" Bart asked in passing. I backed Bart into a corner, staring into his eyes, wondering why he'd say something like that. My eyes were wild, and his were filled with tears. I wanted to hurt his feelings, but he seemed to do a good job of that for himself. How could I beat that?

"What the fuck did you say?" I snapped. Bart didn't flinch. He knew I wouldn't hit him. I couldn’t hold back my hurt. It wasn’t in me to tell Bart I needed him. I would’ve rather destroyed my relationship with him than admit I had real feelings for him. 

"How does he make you feel?" Bart asked. “Did you fight?” 

"Why do you care?" I asked. Bart didn't answer. "Do you think it's funny? Do you think—?" 

"Does he hold you? Does he know you like your earlobes nibbled on? Does he make your teeth chatter when you cum? Does he make you—?"

"What do you want me to say?" I shouted. Tears fell from his big amber eyes, and I wanted to hate him for crying. I wanted to hate him for backing me into a corner while I had him pinned. I hated him because it felt like he knew I was unfulfilled in every romantic tryst I had after him. He had to know how badly he hurt me. 

"I want you to tell me you love him... I want you to tell me he's not like anyone else and you're done looking. I want you to tell me he makes you weak in the knees, and I was right to let you go. I want you to tell me I'm not hurting for no reason... Tell me you fuck him because you're in love, so I can stop worrying about you—." I kissed him, and for the first time in a long time, he kissed me back. 

"He's no you," I whispered half out of breath and deliriously desperate. I grabbed Bart by his shoulders and kissed his neck with red-hot desperation and he shut his eyes, lifting his chin as he cried. "Bart, I need you. I need you so bad. Please." I stared at him, holding back from kissing him again until he could return the favor. I backed away, giving him space to think and he leaped into my arms, wrapping his legs around me and we hit the ground. 

"Oh shit, Conner—." 

"Kiss me," I laughed.

Truthfully, all those guys go out with a whimper rather than a bang so you may be disappointed, but they still get a few good moments before it and maybe that's enough. Plus a Wells shows up later to help with that Tom Cavanagh fix. I'm disappointed Cisco didn't return (and neither did any Rogues, but it was a huge cast and maybe more villains would have been overkill)…Wally should have been there too, but at least he appeared a few episodes ago to more or less wrap up his story.

It wasn't an amazing finale if I'm being honest, but it's nice that things got wrapped up properly, the ending was cheery, and things are looking up for every member of Team Flash. Plus it was good to see Eddie and Wellsobard again, even if Eddie's arc was veering dangerously close to character assassination -- but he makes the correct choice in the end, and he's right about the universe not treating him fairly. So I can live with it.

I watched the entire series even though I was only sporadically enjoying it as of several seasons ago, and all those years were a hell of a ride. First season and the fun the fandom had will always live on positively in my memories, so it was worth it. I'm not sorry it's over, but glad to have had the experience.
